Madison...what a place!

What a place! I walked down to State Street and stopped in awe for a while. To my right were restaurants of almost all nationalities---anything from Middle East to the Midwest was there. To my left, the same. Oh yeah, there were a couple of franchises: a BW3’s, a Taco Bell, etc., but these were in the minority and I was at a loss as to where to go.

So I walked. Up and down the street on both sides just taking in the sights and smells I went, and finally wound up where I started. I looked at the closest place---Potbelly’s, and the image of a real Italian sub overwhelmed me. Bad stomach or not, I was going to put something good in it. A few minutes later I was heading back to my hotel room with the sandwich wrapped and in a paper bag, the Italian dressing already starting to soak through, the smell of the sausage and hot peppers starting to attract a crowd.

That was about an hour ago. I now sit and look out on State Street and wondering where I’m going to go next…
