As they walked down the corridor towards her apartment above the bar, she suddenly stopped and turned the base on one of the many lamps that lined the hallway. She bent down and unleashed the tiger, and he slowly entered the passageway.
"He knows his place," she said. She wrapped the leash around one hand, and with the other took my hand in hers. "You'll have nothing to fear from him. She gave me a strange look---almost like she was looking at me for the first time. "I don't think you ever had anything to fear from him."
